Book Recommendations on Psychic Development and Divination from Rev. Susan Snowden

Psychic Development - DEBRA LYNNE KATZ

You Are Psychic: The Art of Clairvoyant Reading & Healing

Debra joined the Clairvoyant Training Program at the Berkeley Psychic Institute while I was there and we had the same teachers. It was interesting to to read how the Tools work for her now that she has internalized and owned them.

It is difficult to learn such things from books, which is why I ended up at BPI. The beauty of the skills they teach is that you can integrate them into every other system of energy work you might want to incorporate with your Practice.

Debra teaches now, as I do. This is a solid reference book in the techniques developed and passed onto others by Lewis Bostwick and The Berkeley Psychic Institute.

I notice she has published two more books since this one came out. I will have to read them!

Divination - The Tarot - MARY K. GREER

Tarot for Your Self : A Workbook for Personal Transformation

Learning to read the tarot cards is another one of those things that is hard to do from a book. In my experience, it is more a folk art, and, as such, needs to be undertaken with an Adept.

I bumped into one at a party at the start of my freshman year at college. As it turned out, she lived only three doors down from me in the dorm. Rita took me under her wing and helped me codify the archetypes from the gestalt in the collective unconscious through the symbols and metaphors represented by each card in the tarot deck.

Mary K. Greer provides an amazing workbook to help you accomplish much the same thing. There is not a better book out there.

Universal Waite Tarot Deck and Book Set (Cards)

There are a myriad of different tarot decks and I've tried many of them. I've quite a collection, actually, but I always use these when I read for others. Perhaps it is because this was the deck that Rita had, so I bought my own. I still have them, over thirty years now.

I think it is helpful to have the book that comes with this set as a starting point for the "traditional" interpretations of each card. But I highly encourage you to use Mary K. Greer's workbook as well.
